The Global Positioning System (GPS) is a group of 27 Earth-orbiting satellites, of which 24 are in operation and three extras in case any fail. When people talk about a "GPS," they usually are referring to a GPS receiver. The U.S. military developed and implemented this satellite network as a military navigation system but now let’s everyone use the signals free of charge.
A common misconception among most people is how GPS works. GPS (Global Positioning System) satellites should not be confused with communication satellites used for wireless communications. They are two completely separate satellite networks. All of our systems use GPS satellites for location purposes. Our use various wireless networks to communicate the location data to our servers so our customers can track the locate of their vehicles/assets/person in real-time or historically, also known as Journey Playback.
There are many types of GPS receivers out there in the market, but the once TrackHab recommends are the ones we refer to as the “Do It Your Self” GPS receivers. No need for an antenna that connects to the unit with a lead wire, scrawling, drilling, etc. These types connect to your vehicle OBD2 socket or just dropped into the asset or simply hangs around the neck of the person been tracked. The system collects the GPS data and feeds it to our servers. The unit does some processing of events, geo-fencing and speed, etc. Additionally, the GPS unit has a wireless modem inside, similar to ones found in cell phones. This modem is used to to communicate with TrackHab's servers. The GPS data is sent directly from the unit to TrackHab servers, where it is immediately processed into usable information for users. This all takes place in absolute Real Time.
Our systems are easy to install. Depending on the device you chose to purchase, you simply plug it into your vehicle OBD2 socket outlet located at the lower left part of your car dashboard. Once its firmly secure in the socket, you immediately notes a LED (light-emitting diode) light blinking, soon it will change colour or blink faster, this means it has successfully communicated with our servers and it’s online. On the hand, if you choose Thab100 or Thab704, these are the personal trackers. Simply charge the unit, the unit for 6 hours max. A LED (light-emitting diode) light should indicate when the battery is fully charge; push the switch to turn it on the unit, in a minute or two you are good to go.

That is a good question; it’s all still very simple. Simply logon to http://www.trackhab.com/signup , create an account. After filling and completing the form, an email is sent by trackhab.com to the email address you use to sign-up with the subject Activate Account. Simply click on the button that says Activate Your Account. Now that your account is activated and you are now login, you should see a section called Add GPS Device, give your device a name as shown in the example, next add the GPS (11 Device ID/IMEI Number). It is very important to key in the correct 11 digits other than that, your GPS unite will not work at all.

Yes. Our units are quite small and are often installed under the dashboard in the ODB socket, no wiring, no GPS and GSM antennas. Depending on the unit you choose, you can simply hide it around.
